Women’s Specialty Health Programs

Show Me Healthy Women (SMHW)

Show Me Healthy Women (SMHW) offers free cancer screenings for Missouri women who meet age, income, and insurance guidelines.
 
Eligibility: To get services through Show Me Healthy Women (SMHW), you must meet all of these requirements:
  • Income: Your household income must be at or below 250% of the federal poverty level.
  • Age: You must be 21 to 64 years old, or older if you do not have Medicare Part B.
  • Insurance: You must have no insurance that covers these services or be unable to afford your insurance deductible or co‑payment.

Screening Services:

  • Clinical breast exams (CBE)
  • Screening mammograms for women aged 40–64 (when donated funds are available)
  • Pap tests
  • Pelvic exams

WiseWoman (WW)

WISEWOMAN (Well‑Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation) provides free heart disease and stroke prevention screenings and education to women enrolled in the Show Me Healthy Women (SMHW) program. SMHW is Missouri’s version of the national early breast and cervical cancer control project.
 
Eligibility: To be eligible for WISEWOMAN, a woman must:
  • Be enrolled in the Show Me Healthy Women (SMHW) program
  • Meet SMHW age guidelines (35–64 years)
  • Meet SMHW income guidelines
