Jefferson County Health Department is proud to offer the Project Lifesaver program. The program is only available to residents of Jefferson County.A woman in a pink sweater latches a project lifesaver band child seated in a chair.

Project Lifesaver is an international search‑and‑rescue program run by public safety agencies. It is designed to help people who are at risk of wandering, such as children or adults with conditions that affect memory, thinking, or judgment. This program is offered at no cost to the participants or their families.

The goal of Project Lifesaver is to find missing people quickly and safely, and to reduce the chance of injury. Participants wear a small, trackable device. If a person wanders away, trained officers can use this device to locate them faster than with standard search methods.
