Jefferson County Week 40 COVID Update

CDC Week 40 Epidemiological Analysis: (from JCHD Epidemiologist, Sara Wilton)

This week the county remains in the RED/highest transmission level with a weekly case count of 512 confirmed and probable cases and a positivity rate of 11%. Our weekly case count decreased 11.72% from week 39 to week 40, and the percent positivity dropped from 12.3% in week 39 to 11% in week 40. We reported 150 youth cases in week 40, accounting for 29.3% of all weekly cases.

Our total percentage of vaccinated individuals is 42.63%. Of the 512 new cases, 81.4% were unvaccinated. Two of our age groups have surpassed the 70% vaccinated mark; 70–79-year-olds and 80+ year olds. Our 60–69-year-old age group is close at 67.87% fully vaccinated.
