Jefferson County Week 39 COVID Update

CDC Week 39 Epidemiological Analysis: (from JCHD Epidemiologist, Sara Wilton)

This week the county remains in the RED/highest transmission level with a weekly case count of 603 confirmed and probable cases and a positivity rate of 12.3%. Our weekly case count decreased 12.23% from week 38 to week 39, and the percent positivity dropped from 13.3% in week 38 to 12.3% in week 39. We reported 174 youth cases in week 39, accounting for 28.9% of all weekly cases.

Our total percentage of vaccinated individuals is 42.49%. Of the 603 new cases, 81.9% were unvaccinated. We are also reporting an additional 12 COVID deaths since our last update bringing the total number of COVID deaths to 317. These deaths were reported to us on October 5, so they are not reflected in this week’s graphs, however, they will be in the week 40 report next week.

Starting this week, all of our COVID data and resources will be located on the COVID-19 page on our website. You can find that here: Coronavirus (COVID-19) — Jefferson County Health Department (jeffcohealth.org)
