Jefferson County Week 42 COVID Update

CDC Week 42 Epidemiological Analysis: (from JCHD Epidemiologist, Sara Wilton)

This week we remain in red status with a weekly case count of 341. Our weekly case count decreased 18.4% from week 41 to week 42. Our positivity rate has dropped to YELLOW status at 7.73%. Though percent positivity is in yellow, the county remains in RED because according to the CDC if two indicators suggest different transmission levels, the higher level is selected. In week 42 we are reporting 82 new youth cases which is the first time this number has been in double digits since week 28 (July 18th). Our total percentage of vaccinated individuals is 43.16%. Of the 411 new cases, 78.9% were unvaccinated.
