CDC Week 45 Epidemiological Analysis: (from JCHD Epidemiologist, Sara Wilton)
This week the county remains in the RED/highest transmission level with a weekly case count of 460 confirmed and probable cases and a positivity rate of 10.86%. Both our weekly case count and percent positivity increased from last week with 22.67% increase in cases from last week. We reported 108 youth cases in week 45, accounting for 23.48% of all weekly cases.
Our total percentage of fully vaccinated individuals is 44.35%. Of the 460 new cases that were reported for week 45, 78.5% were unvaccinated. Recently, most of the COVID vaccines provided in the county have been 3rd or booster doses.
As the holiday season approaches, JCHD encourages individuals to follow respiratory illness prevention measures. These include frequent handwashing especially before eating or serving food, wear a mask, communicate with friends and family about the safety precautions you are taking, and get vaccinated against the flu and COVID if possible.
