The Jefferson County Health Department has been notified of seven new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the county. Please see attachment for demographic information. This brings the total number of positive cases to 54 in Jefferson County.
“Community spread is present in our community,” states Jefferson County Health Department Director, Kelley Vollmar, “and, unfortunately, we will continue to see this virus spread and case counts increase. It is important residents follow guidelines and regulations in place from government agencies across the nation, as well as in Jefferson County.”
Our Public Health Preparedness team has started contact investigations and notifications regarding these cases. Those identified as coming into contact with the positive case will be notified individually.
