Sixteen Additional Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Jefferson County, Missouri

The Jefferson County Health Department has been notified of 16 new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the county. The residents include six females and five males. These cases are still under investigation and information is still coming in. This brings the total number of positive cases to 39 in Jefferson County.

“Community spread is present in our community,” states Jefferson County Health Department Director, Kelley Vollmar, “and, unfortunately, we will continue to see this virus spread and case counts increase. It is important residents follow guidelines and regulations in place from government agencies across the nation, as well as in Jefferson County.”

Our Public Health Preparedness team has started contact investigations and notifications regarding these cases. Those identified as coming into contact with the positive case will be notified individually. Jefferson County Health Department continues to follow CDC guidelines to protect public health and limit the spread of infection.
