The St. Louis Regional Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) includes 13 neighboring counties in the states of Illinois and Missouri. These counties collaborate to develop and practice local and regional public health emergency response plans. Working together in this manner ensures a coordinated response, to better serve the St. Louis region and preserve public health during times of disaster.
Jefferson County Health Department has created plans to establish an emergency Point of Dispensing (POD) site to provide life-saving medications in the event of an infectious disease outbreak or bio-terrorism attack in the area. Please join us to help exercise our ability to get those life-saving medications to the people of Jefferson County.
We need volunteers to work the Point of Dispensing (POD) and to walk through as mock patients. The exercise will be held at Hillsboro Community Civic Center. Jefferson County Health Department, along with other Emergency Response personnel, will practice the set-up, dispensing, and take down of a full-scale POD. All volunteers will receive Just in Time in Training at the event. Positions include greeter/triage (griage), line monitors, screeners and dispensers, runners and education.
