Online Basic Food Safety Education Training

Soon the health department will provide training materials that can be downloaded for use to study for the Basic Sanitation Training Requirements of the Jefferson County Food Service Ordinance. Training materials will be posted here soon. Once posted they can be downloaded for study. Individuals then can contact our office for a list of predetermined testing dates and locations. They will then have to take an exam. If a sufficient score is acheived they can receive their food handlers card.

Managers must still train in a food safety training that is accepted by the health department. The health department only accepts training that meets FDA's Conference for Food Protection approval. To determine what training is acceptable visit the ANSI Accreditation website. The most widely available training accepted by Jefferson County Health Department is National Restaurant Association's ServSafe.
