The Chest Clinic is available to evaluate and
treat uninsured persons with
Tuberculosis disease or infection.
Dr. W.M. Breite M.D. is on staff at Jefferson
and is a specialist in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Patients who need a chest x-ray are referred to the X-Ray
Imaging Center located on the JMH campus. It is the patient's responsibility to
have their chest x-ray done PRIOR to their appointment with Dr. Breite.
Patients are seen by appointment only. Chest
Clinic is held once a month in which the patient and X-ray film are then
evaluated by Dr. Breite.
Anti–tuberculosis medications prescribed by
Dr. Breite are filled by the Health Department through a State contracted
pharmacy. Medications are sent to the Health Department of your choice for pick
up. Jefferson County Health Department dispenses medication Monday through
Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm. No appointment is necessary to pick up your medicine..
Patients on anti-tuberculosis medicine
are seen for a minimum of two additional visits, usually after two months into
therapy and one final visit upon completion of medication. Standard
minimum therapy is presently nine months.
There is currently no charge for your office
visits, medications, lab work or your chest X-ray through JMH Imaging Center.
